Have you Had Your Daily Shake Up?

Malted Banana Shake

I love bananas in my smoothies, shakes and cakes! Since the decline of the price of bananas, I have been buying the manky, only good for cooking, bananas and freezing them, peeled, and storing them in a ziplock bag. It’s much easier to peel them before you freeze them so you don’t have to defrost them first. I use my banana’s as ice blocks to get my shakes, really cold.

My 12-year-old has discovered Malt – Oh well, I have discovered Malt and he just happens to be on the receiving end!

I understand that it is basically sugar but it does have lots of B group vitamins and healthy minerals. So each afternoon, during the low sugar “I’m STARVING” spike, I have been making a yummy Malted Banana Shake.

It goes down a treat!

1 frozen banana
A handful of ice
200g milk or nut milk
1 tab yoghurt
1 teas vanilla extract
1  – 2 tabs of Malt Extract
1 tab sunflower seeds (optional)

Blitz in the TM for 10 – 15 seconds on SP 9. Serve COLD.

(Sometimes I sneak in an egg for extra protein and satiety factor – Shhhh…. don’t tell him!)

Oh lordy – Ihave just found this:) When I was pregnant with my last this was my craving – TMX malted banana milkshakes. They are so light and fluffy and wonderful.

My malt got mould in it though so I had to throw it out when I went to do it this summer – do you keep yours in the fridge? Or was it just a really hot summer?

Yes, I keep my malt in the fridge too. It is such a big can, it takes ages to get through. You can use it instead of sugar in baking too!
